CIOTA - Fellows Criteria

CRITERIA FOR FELLOW MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility Requirements:

Membership Duration:

Applicants must have held the grade of "Full Membership" for a minimum of 10 years.

They should have demonstrated outstanding service to the Institute over this period.

There should be an evidence of participation in most of the Institute programs.

Applicant must be recommended by two existing fellow of the Institute.

Professional Experience:

Applicants must be transport practitioners aged 40 years or above.

They must possess approved academic qualifications and have a minimum of 15 years of continuous experience in the management and administration of transport and logistics functions.

This experience should be at a senior executive or directorate level within a substantial organization in the transport sector or an allied field.

Governing Council Evaluation:

Applicants must be deemed fit and proper by the Governing Council and should have rendered special or outstanding service to the Institute or the industry as a whole.

There will be no direct awards of Fellow status to non-members unless specifically requested and approved by the Governing Council.

Condition for direct fellow by the Governing council shall include the applicant must be a CEO of a transport or logistics organization.

The Applicants must be an accomplished professional in the field of transport and logistics having contributed to the development of either the Institute or transport profession.

Honorary Fellowships:

The President/Chairman of the Council has the authority to award honorary Fellow status to individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of transport and have significantly contributed to the development of the Institute or transport and logistics profession.

Financial Obligations:

All fellow awardees must pay a development levy, as determined by the Governing Council.

Fellow awardees are required to pay annual subscription fees for a period of two years in advance.
